Collegiate Recovery Community (CRC)
SHC also offers a program for enrolled students with six months or more of sobriety. This is not a treatment program, but rather a support program for students in recovery. RED WATCH BAND PROGRAM
The Department of Health Promotion and Wellness at the Student Health Center encourages students to take an active role in enhancing the safety of the campus community through participation in the Red Watch Band training.
The mission of the Red Watch Band program, developed by Stonybrook University, is to provide members of the campus community with the knowledge and skills to identify and effectively intervene in alcohol-related medical emergencies.
Training will include how to:
- Summon professional help
- Respond to alcohol emergencies effectively
- CPR certification
- Promote culture of responsibility on campus
